Description
Ashtamangalyam is a set of eight items widely found in Hindu homes in Kerala. The traditional bridal gift given as part of the wedding ceremony. The Ashtamangalya set/pooja thali set is all the things a Kerala woman loves to keep and to decorate herself, and is an auspicious sight. Ashtamangalyam/Pooja plate is symbolically represents auspiciousness and prosperity. Ashta means ‘eight’ and Mangalyam means ‘that which gives happiness’. Ashtamangalyam is not the eight miniature vessels but it can be any eight auspicious items. It is useful gift for housewarming. it is commonly used Marriage, Vishu, Thiruvathira, During Ramayana Masam (Karkidakam), Diwali etc.
